I hang out at the Texas Theatre all the time. They play old, vintage movies on 35 mm film, and even some newer movies that are just coming out. The kids who run it have a genuine appreciation for the building, its history, and the quality of movies they play. They also host events, and are quite successful in getting peopel of all ages to come out, have a drink and dance. My friend has an art gallery upstairs called the Safe Room, because there's an old safe int here, that she left in its original place. So before you go making quick judgments about the Texas Theatre, go pay it a visit for yourself.
