Was that when the place was called the Bull Pen? I think the name was changed when Oak Cliff went dry, about 1955 or 1956.
I clearly remember visiting a drive in with car hops on Fort Worth Avenue at about the point where Fort Worth Avenue and West Commerce diverged, somewhere east of the Alamo Courts motel. That would have been in the late fifties.
