Dave - The integration of the Dallas schools was not the only reason for "white flight". The "block busting" tactics done to neighborhoods was tragic. As someone born (1942) ,raised, and a OC citizen until 1971, I knew many family's who moved out of Dallas ,not because their kids would attend school with other races, but for economic reasons. Their home values were dropping by the day. Their equity was gone and it was move now,take the loss, or be stuck paying an upside down mortgage for what might be the rest of their lives.
