I've heard stories about the old railroad tunnels for years. Don't know if any of them are still intact or if there is any way to access them. Years ago, when I was in high school there were rumors of old tunnels underneath my school (Adamson). There were stories that a faculty member and a couple of students prowled through them and found a bunch of old Klan or Nazi regalia (the stories varied) stored in one. The faculty member had left the school several years before so I never got to talk to him. However, since I was on the staff of the school newspaper, I was able to get permission from the principal to explore different areas of the school. I never did find the tunnels in question but found other interesting stuff. I found a "cave" behind a wall in the band hall (which was located in the basement). It wasn't a real cave but you could remove a back panel in one of the lockers, crawl through the hole and there was a large room with a dirt floor, on the other side. There was graffiti going back to the 1930's in there. I also went under the school into the areas designated as Civil Defense shelters and found lots of stored food and water in cases. Also found a way to spy into the drill team dressing rooms through the air vents. While I did right up the story, I never gave away the secret of the air vents.
