There have been a couple other threads about Cedar Springs and some good information provided. I was wondering about the location of Cole's Store and the flour mill. Where would that have been located today?
Sunday afternoon I wandered around there some, down in the ditches and tunnels underneath the tollroad, Craddock Park and even hopped a few fences in the apartment complexes over there.
I gather from what has been previously posted that Craddock Park must have been the source of Cedar Springs. Looking at the 1930 SMU aerials seems to support that somewhat.
I cannot figure out where the water comes from. At Craddock Park, the storm pipe leading under the Tollroad is dry(east side). On the west side of the Tollroad, there is a good stream of water leading from the channelized tunnel under the Tollroad. Naturally, the water coming out from the Tollroad is an aggregated flow from a variety of places. Just seems interesting to have water like that.
There seems to be an abence of maps for Cedar Springs which might show dwellings or grist mill locations.
