In the 50s going to Okla. to see my grandparents, we took old HWY 77 thru Lewisville onward to Denton. You had to stop in every town. When the interstate system took over, we bypassed 77 if my memory serves me. I remember my dad remarking as we passed the landscape NW of Lewisville on I-35 that all of that would soon be underwater. I guess that was 54 or 55???. At some time thereafter they blew the dam. I recall my college days at UNTin the early 60s partying at remnants of the old dam on the SW end near the town of Lake Dallas with the famous restaurant, The Duck Inn. Anybody here remember that place and it's fried catfish? Jim
